Meet your therapist, Rebecca Rappel Zohn, LCSW, LCADC

My goal is to help you live wholeheartedly, learn to be comfortable with vulnerability, experience comfort with all feelings, not just the pleasant ones, and gain a deeper understanding for who you are and where you want to be. Together, we can discuss a plan to navigate your path—one step at a time.

As a therapist, my journey began as a teenager when I first started therapy.

Finding a warm, non-judgmental space to open up sparked my passion for helping others feel understood and supported. Since then, this passion has led me through all kinds of experiences in hospitals, schools, and various outpatient settings. With a psychology degree from the University of Rhode Island and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Rutgers University, I've had the privilege of working with individuals across different age groups, including teens, young adults, and adults alike.

Anxiety is one of the many emotions we (human beings) experience and just like you, I understand how uncomfortable anxiety can be. That urge to push it away or get rid of it entirely can be strong, but sometimes, fighting anxiety only makes things harder. What if, instead, we invited it to come along for the ride? Anxiety can actually be useful like motivating you towards your goals and allowing you to effectively plan ahead to name a few. Learning to love your anxiety is possible with the willingness to respond with more curiosity and compassion.

My passion is geared towards Compassion-Focused Therapy. I believe that we are often our own biggest critics. According to Dr. Kristin Neff, “When we criticize ourselves, we are both the attacker and the attacked.” Changing the way we respond to ourselves, not only allows us to be kinder and gentler towards others and ourselves but also to experience more contentment and peace within our day-to-day lives.

What our sessions will look like

In our therapy sessions, I bring together tools from compassion-focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness practices to give you practical skills you can really use in your daily life. These skills don’t replace our time for reflection—they add to it, creating a bridge between self-awareness and real healing. You won’t just get someone who nods along; I’m here to offer supportive, warm, and empowering feedback that feels genuine and collaborative every step of the way.

Therapy is a powerful investment in yourself, requiring your dedication and time.

I deeply value the relationship we're building together. While I may not have all the answers, I believe that nurturing this connection will provide us with the opportunity to lay a solid foundation for you to embrace and fulfill your utmost potential.
