ANXIETY & SELF-ESTEEM COUNSELING

You deserve to take care of you.

Supporting young adults and millennial women as they navigate the journey towards healing, reclaiming their inner strength, and embracing self-compassion

Shame, anxiety and feelings of unworthiness can create disconnection within ourselves, our relationships and lives.

Shame is often rooted in feelings of inadequacy, therefore, change begins with self-acceptance and self-love. As we begin to tolerate, appreciate, and ultimately, love ourselves, we learn to embrace our imperfections.

Anxiety comes in all shapes and sizes.

My focus includes the following:

  • Body Image

  • Social anxiety

  • Relationship challenges and intimacy issues

  • Indecisiveness

  • Burnout prevention and management

  • Perfectionism

  • People-pleasing

  • Panic

  • Shame

  • Trauma

  • Self-esteem

You are self-aware and are noticing that your anxiety is getting in the way of the life you want to live.

Anxiety can be activating or inhibiting, pushing you to go after your goals one moment but pull back and retreat the next. Maybe you find yourself struggling with comparisons, food choices, self-confidence, and the constant pressure to meet expectations. Reassurance might bring a bit of relief, but those anxious thoughts tend to keep coming back. You might seem calm on the outside, but inside, you feel scattered, wondering how to connect with yourself and others in a real, meaningful way.

Unaddressed anxiety can lead to burnout, impacting sleep, motivation, energy, and presence in conversations. It's easy to overlook self-care and balance in a world that praises hustle and achievement.

You might be wondering where to go from here and this is where I come in…

Exploring and understanding yourself can help deepen self-awareness and help you befriend your anxiety. (I know this sounds scary but anxiety has some really cool perks and plus it’s part of you.) Reconnecting with yourself, prioritizing self-care, and managing tasks more smoothly are all achievable with the right support.

I understand that opening up to someone new is both delicate and courageous.

My intention is to create a safe and supportive space for you, where you can feel comfortable challenging yourself and embracing change with guidance.

AREAS I SPECIALIZE IN

  • You are worthy

Shame, as Brene Brown says, grows in silence, secrecy and judgment. It can leave you feeling disconnected, unworthy, and anxious. Maybe you’ve found yourself isolating, chasing perfection, or just trying to numb everything. Over time, you might have learned to keep your feelings locked up to avoid getting hurt — it felt like the safer choice.

But sooner or later, letting go of the pain you’ve been carrying alone becomes necessary for healing. This is where vulnerability comes in; it opens the door to what really heals shame: empathy.

In therapy, you’ll have a space where you can share what you’ve been holding onto and feel truly heard and understood. Little by little, as you begin to uncover who you are, you’ll learn how to embrace and love yourself, imperfections and all.

  • The events in your life don’t define you

As you navigate life, you gather memories—some joyful, others painful. It’s often those painful moments that stick with you, making you doubt your worth and leading to behaviors you might not even realize are trauma responses, like people-pleasing, over-apologizing, reassurance seeking, staying busy, or trying to control everything to avoid getting hurt.

Trauma isn’t just about what happened; it’s about how deeply it impacts you. Your pain is real and valid, no matter what others might think. Trauma can leave you feeling anxious, always on edge, like you're waiting for the next bad thing to happen.

In therapy, you'll have a safe, supportive space to embrace all parts of yourself, even those you tend to hide. Together, we’ll explore how your anxiety and trauma are connected, gently transforming those protective behaviors into chances for healing. With time, you’ll start to feel more like your true self, and live a more fulfilling life.
